The transition from middle school to high school represents a significant event in the lives of our students, one that necessitates support from and collaboration among teachers, parents, counselors, and administrators. Successful transitions place particular emphasis on eighth grade initiatives and can create one of the strongest bridges from middle school to high school and beyond.

The High School Placement Department assists students and families throughout the high school exploration and application process. Our focus is connecting students with programs and opportunities that fit their academic, personal, spiritual and social needs.
The High School Placement Department aims to provide high school placement and follow-up services to the entire senior class through the following initiatives:

The procedure for requesting transcripts,counselor/teacher recommendations and school records for applications to high schools is outlined below.

The High School Placement Department aims to provide high school placement and follow-up services to the entire senior class through the following initiatives:
- Serves as a liaison to boarding, private, catholic and charter schools across the nation.
- Host Parent Information Session.
- Meets with all parents individually to discuss plan of action by early October.
- Information sessions conducted by various Specialized Foundations for HS (NJ SEEDS, WIGHT FOUNDATION, A BETTER CHANCE FOUNDATION, PREP FOR PREP).
- Host High School Fair
- Follow-up with all 8th grade students and families throughout the school year to ensure proper linkage.
- Links families to tuition assistance and scholarships for affordable opportunities for high school.
Transcripts, Recommendations, School Records
The procedure for requesting transcripts,counselor/teacher recommendations and school records for applications to high schools is outlined below.
- All requests and paperwork (including signed release) should be submitted to Mrs. Morrison, School Counselor,a minimum of 2 weeks before due date.
- Mrs. Morrison will distribute and collect all forms & recommendations from the teachers.
- All materials will be mailed to the school directly.
