The Wight Foundation provides opportunities for talented young men and women to achieve academic excellence in a college preparatory boarding school environment. The Wight Foundation seeks 7th grade students with high intellectual curiosity and academically competitive profiles.
A Better Chance Foundation
APPLICATION AVAILABLE: February 15, 2017
Over the course of two generations, A Better Chance has placed more than 14,000 talented young people of color into the nation’s leadership pipeline through increased access to academically rigorous independent and public schools.

A leadership development program that offers promising students of color access to a private school education and life changing opportunities.
The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children
APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE STARTING JAN. 1, 2017.
SFIC provides children in need with the opportunity for a quality, values based education in a safe environment. The Fund provides partial tuition scholarships to economically disadvantaged children attending private and parochial schools within Bergen, Essex, Hudson and Union counties. Scholarship awards are based upon need without regard to race, religion or ethnicity.
Rutgers Upward Bound
APPLICATION DEADLINE: December 2016
The Rutgers Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math-Science Programs provides young scholars with a series of specialized college preparatory services including: tutoring, mentoring, advising, programming, college courses and on-campus experiences with research faculty to increase student persistence and graduation from high school and admission to institutions of higher education. Students apply Fall of 8th grade year.
